Cadoux Traders

Personally, I just have a passion for it, I love it. With bad years crop-wise, it is always an excuse to get guys together and to keep morale up. The Sunday count is really the important part of the whole shoot, and everyone pitches in and cooks - it's a great community event. I don't give prizes to the teams - all sponsorship money goes into the food and drinks which are bought locally. The SSAA WA shoot has become a bit of a competition too - our guys like to have the highest number in the state, and when we get bumped off, they try harder next time. Business wise we mainly see it as a PR exercise. We do make sales of bullets and baits, so a little feeds directly back to the business. We also sell everything involved with sheep, so if we can help farmers keep foxes and rabbits to a minimum; we help keep sheep in the area. We have an honour board with the counts documented each year that is displayed in the shop, and a lot of people are quite fascinated with the total counts. Cadoux Traders is only directly promoted as a "sponsor".

Would you recommend other individuals, groups and organisations get involved?

Seriously, why would you not want to be involved? It builds your profile in the community, supports the industry that we rely on and it raises money for The Regional Men's Health Initiative-no country community can afford not to support that!
