Central Wheatbelt Declared Species Group
The CWDSG was formed by local farmers, in response to the ever increasing wild dogs numbers and their impact on livestock. The group was formed to make resourcing control measures more affordable and to increase the participation of landholders without stock.
What has made the group successful?
Providing rabbit baits as well as dog baits has encouraged traditional non baiters to join. These may be farmers who don't run stock and wouldn't normally bait for dogs. But they will bait for rabbits which gets them involved. It's all about getting as many farmers as possible to work together at the same time.
